Feeling better but may stay longer

Hudson is definitely starting to feel better (see the basketball pictures), but the level of the anti-rejection medication in his blood not only is not high enough for us to come home today, but it actually went down yesterday. That was a huge disappointment for us and they ran a bunch of tests last night to see if they can find out how quickly his body clears the stuff. Everything is going great with the new kidney, but they need to get this medication level high enough for us to come home permanently

However, they just told me a few minutes ago that they will give Hudson a "pass", meaning he can come home for most of the day and come back tonight. This is fantastic, because we get to celebrate with our family that is in town and Kristi will be able to give him a bath and enjoy him at home. It's not exactly what we were hoping for, but it is still an answer to our requests to God and we are very thankful!

How exciting that he gets to come home for the day! We'll continue to pray that he has enough of the anti-rejection drug in his system to go home permanently, but I'm so glad that you at least get this break from the hospital.

We're so proud of Hudson...he looks amazing in the pictures!! We can't wait to see him face-to-face, and to celebrate his transplant and recovery with you! Hopefully sooner than later.

We love and miss you!

Donny and Kristi, Hudson looks wonderful in the pictures and look at him stretching to put that basketball through the hoop. You would not know he had monumental surgery looking at those pictures. Since you are right on top of things, it might be hard to see a difference, but to the casual observer, Hudson looks 100% better already. Have a great day at home; he'll be coming home permanently soon. It was just a week ago that he received the new kidney. So glad he's doing so well. You all take wonderful pictures -- you're so photogenic.

What incredible pictures! Thanks for posting them. We love you all and continue to pray for sweet Hudson. "Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you." Ps. 33:20-22

Just read the news from your mom that Hudson was discharged from the hospital after all!!! Thank you LORD!!!

Praying the Lord will continue to do exceedingly abundant healing in Hudson's body, more than you could ask for or imagine. He does look amazing in the photos - thanks for posting them!

And may these days be very sweet ones at home with your family as you soak in all the Lord has done thus far.
